Annual Maintenance

WHEN IT COMES TO EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEMS, A FEW SIMPLE PROCEDURES CAN PAY OFF BIG!

Evaporative cooling systems require an annual maintenance program to ensure that your system delivers its many benefits season after season. Below is a handy checklist of items to inspect BEFORE STARTING UP A NEW SYSTEM, or when RE-STARTING YOUR EXISTING SYSTEM at the beginning of each new season:

Check for water leaks
Clean out the sump
Inspect for air leaks
Check the water level in the sump
Check the pump
Adjust the water flow
Adjust the Bleed-Off
Start up the unit

If there are no problems, this entire procedure should take less than an hour.

Great advice from the Glacier-Cor pros!

HERE'S A GREAT TIP TO HELP EXTEND THE LIFE OF BOTH YOUR SYSTEM AND YOUR GLACIER-COR PADS: If your cooling unit is located in a convenient place, look it over several times during the cooling season. Check that no water is pooling, no algae or scaling is occurring, and your pads are not falling into or out of the unit. These simple status checks can prevent damage. Taking prompt care of them will pay you back ten fold!

HERE'S ANOTHER TIP: Wash newly purchased pads for several hours by running the pump without any airflow through the media. This washing will clean out any particulate matter in the pads, reduce start-up odor, and improve wetting ability.
